On 7.14-15.08 The Silicon Valley Microfinance Network will host Microfinance West at the Fishermans Wharf Hilton in San Francisco. I'd love to attend but, quite unfortunately for all, it requires a macro-financial investment to register and attend.... Read Full Microfinance West, 07.08 Article »

Start Conference, SF 08.08

By Michael CummingsPublished 7/5/08
Jeffrey Veen and Co. have whipped up The Start Conference to help, and of course be helped by, those who'd like to start their own companies, and "quit your day job." Looks like a great forum. Of particular personal interest is presence of and, I presume, presentation by Dave McClure. I'd love to go but not sure am able as I leave that... Read Full Start Conference, SF 08.08 Article »

By Michael CummingsPublished 5/17/08
Adaptive Path's (AP) UX Week event is coming up in August, 11th through 15th: 8/11-8/15 2008. The 11th, however, is for registration and reception only, so it's really a four (4) day seminar. WordCamp Day 2

By Michael CummingsPublished 7/22/07
WordCamp 2007 proved both extremely valuable to me, personally and professionally, and to my wallet. At $25., you will not get more for less any place. Lunch included! Amazing. Yes, there is hope for human kind. Such a ethos of digital "socialismo" and open source information cross-contribution reminds me of them good ol' days when the web (then called "the net") seemed to me a daily digital Christmas. I fear only that we'd take such things for granted, which, like taking democr... Read Full WordCamp Day 2 Article »

UXDesign.com Launches

By Michael CummingsPublished 7/22/07
It seems appropriate for the current use of this website, which is powered by WordPress, to be launched on the weekend of WordCamp 2007, in San Francisco, which I am now attending. Among a number of familiar faces is Benjamin Harper whom I'd first met at Startup Camp, at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View (where I also happen to live). It is always a pleasure s...
