We are looking for a UI/UX Designer with strong experience in USWDS (U.S. Web Design System) and similar government, public sector, or enterprise-grade platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing accessible, scalable, and user-centered digital experiences that meet strict compliance, usability, and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design user-centric UI/UX solutions aligned with USWDS standards
- Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
- Ensure WCAG 2.1 / Section 508 accessibility compliance
- Apply design systems, pattern libraries, and reusable components
- Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate UI implementation
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and feedback analysis
- Maintain consistency across products using USWDS components
- Translate complex workflows into simple, intuitive experiences
- Review designs for compliance, usability, and performance
- Document design decisions and system usage guidelines
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer.
- Hands-on experience with USWDS (mandatory).
- Experience in government, public sector, healthcare, fintech, or enterprise platforms.
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA, Section 508).
- Proficiency in Figma / Adobe XD / Sketch.
- Solid knowledge of responsive and mobile-first design.
- Experience working with design systems and component libraries.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
